{"id":519,"date":"2010-07-16T00:03:51","date_gmt":"2010-07-16T05:03:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apluscompsci.com\/blog\/?p=519"},"modified":"2010-07-16T00:07:09","modified_gmt":"2010-07-16T05:07:09","slug":"cs-news-how-big-will-robotics-be","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apluscompsci.com\/blog\/cs-news-how-big-will-robotics-be\/","title":{"rendered":"CS News &#8211; How Big Will Robotics Be?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/s\/article\/9179147\/Robots_as_the_next_big_industry_?taxonomyId=12\">Will the Robotics Industry Be Huge in the Future?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It sure looks like the field of robotics and the robotics industry could be huge.\u00a0 As the technology advances, I can see robots doing some really cool stuff.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article.cfm?id=a-robot-in-every-home\">Bill Gates<\/a> was quoted a year or so back as saying he thought robotics would be the next big tech industry.\u00a0 Really though &#8211; what does he know?<br \/>\nCheck out some of the videos online for the Japanese robotics walking on the runways.\u00a0 Those images are spooky as the robots look to be able to walk and run better than I can.\u00a0 Not to say that I am the perfect example of running and walking, but I would like to think I was better at it than a robot.\u00a0 After watching those videos, I am pretty sure I have mechanic competition on\u00a0 the way.<br \/>\nMy students and kids in general really do enjoy working with robotics.\u00a0 They like building them and writing code to make them go.\u00a0 Using robotics in class gets students excited and builds interest in Computer Science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will the Robotics Industry Be Huge in the Future?
